Workshop on Social Audit and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Audit at the PU

Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus, with support from the University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal, is currently hosting a three-day workshop on Social Audit and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Audit at the Purbanchal University (PU) University Dean Hall. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapaliya, Vice Chancellor of Purbanchal University, Gothgaun, Morang. The session was chaired by Campus Chief Mahesh Prasad Niraula of Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus, Pushpalal Chowk, Biratnagar, and attended by Faculty of Arts, Law and Education Dean Mr. Ram Prasad Dhakal, Planning Chief Dr. Komal Prasad Dulal, Member of Executive Council, PU, Dr. Ramesh Babu Kafle, and Former Dean, Faculty of Arts, Law and Education, Dr. Krishna Pandey. The first day's sessions are facilitated by Dr. Chandra Timsina, Assistant Professor at Mahendra Morang Campus, Tribhuvan University, and Dr. Krishna Prasad Pandey, Centre for Population and Development (CPAD), Purbanchal University. Participants from eight campuses across Koshi Province are actively engaged in the workshop: Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus, Biratnagar; Dharan Model Campus, Dharan; Mahendra Morang Campus, Biratnagar; Itahari Namuna Campus, Itahari; Janata Multiple Campus, Itahari; Urlabari Multiple Campus, Urlabari; Pathari Multiple Campus, Pathari Sanischare; and Sukuna Multiple Campus, Sundarharaicha. A total of 51 students have participated in the first day of the workshop and will be actively engaged in the three-day workshop. The workshop is coordinated by Assistant Professor Pukar Chaudhary, Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus, with support from senior faculties of the CPAD and JAMC, including Assistant. Professor Sujan Bista, Prabhav Madip Baniya, Maha Pd Khatiwada, and others. Over three consecutive days, the workshop encompasses 12 sessions covering various aspects of Social and GESI audits. This initiative aligns with UGC Nepal's commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in higher education. By focusing on Social and GESI audits, the workshop aims to equip participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster transparent and inclusive practices.
