The Leading University Project of International Cooperation-LUPIC, from Changwon National University, South Korea, organized a significant event focusing on the handover of scholarships and a guest lecture today at Biratnagar.
The event took place in the Dean's Office Hall and was marked by the presence of esteemed Professor Emeritus Dae Young Jung from South Korea. The program saw active participation from students of the Bachelor of Education in Special Needs Education (B.Ed., SNE) from Janata Adarsha Multiple Campus located at Puspalal Chowk, along with faculty members from the institution. Prof. E Young, J, delivered an insightful presentation on the topic, "Mind and Attitude as a Special Education Teacher."
During his lecture, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive outlook in the 21st century and discussed the impact of technological advancements on society. He explored predictions on disabilities that might emerge or be eradicated by 2045 due to technological progress and analyzed human development across five dimensions: Spirit, Moral, Physical, Emotion, and Cognition. Prof. E Young, J, encouraged self-reflection among special education teachers, highlighted the importance of self-awareness and growth, and stressed the creative and impactful role of teachers. He defined the duties and ethical responsibilities of educators and urged attendees to adopt a positive perspective in life and teaching.
As part of the event, LUPIC awarded a Three thousand dollars scholarship to Special Needs Education (SNE) students. This initiative underscores LUPIC's commitment to supporting and empowering students in the field of special education. Dean Prof. Dr. Anil Kumar Pokharel delivered the closing remarks, expressing honor and gratitude for being part of such an impactful project. The Dean highlighted the significance of international cooperation in advancing education and fostering positive change.
This event marks a milestone in the collaboration between Changwon National University and educational institutions in Nepal, aiming to enhance the quality of special education and inspire future educators. Three students and one faculty member are going to Korea in a few weeks' time as a student and faculty exchange program under this grant.
