Purbanchal University (PU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM) to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among youth. The agreement was signed by Dr. Sandess Das Shrestha, Dean of the Faculty of Management at PU, and Mr. Surendra Golchha, Program Coordinator for Innovation and Startups at CIM.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapalia, Vice-Chancellor of PU, emphasized that this collaboration will attract and nurture young entrepreneurs, contributing to innovation and economic growth in the region.
The program is funded under the federal government’s budget for fostering innovation and startups across all seven provinces, underscoring its national significance.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Dean Sonila Shakya, Vice-President of CIM Bipin Rathi, Senior Vice-President of CIM Nanda Kishor Rathi, and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Chhabindra Parajuli. Both Mr. Rathi and Mr. Parajuli highlighted the program’s role in building a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In the first phase, 30 innovative ideas will be selected from 10 affiliated colleges. Each idea will involve three students, totaling 90 participants. These students will receive startup ecosystem support and incubation for seven months, enabling them to turn their ideas into successful ventures, shared Dr. Sandess Das Shrestha.
